According to several sources, including the New York Times and Mark Halperin's Time.com blog , Governor Eliot Spitzer is expected to resign in the near future. Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson is slated to take over if Spitzer leaves office, and would become the nation's first legally blind governor.
A report from the New York Sun says that Spitzer may resist calls to step down.
