Read This First

The recent incident of assault on a member of the Anscombe Society has engendered much discussion and debate from all sides here on campus. Where speculation still exists, I ask you to read and consider the following article published by Ryan Anderson '04 in First Things. Besides serving as an authoritative statement of facts concerning the situation for the time being, Ryan's article is also a cautionary reminder to those (including myself) not to fall into the temptation of taking sides too early. Special thanks to fellow columnist Brandon McGinley for passing the link.

Finally, facts! ...and an intelligent voice of moderation and reason. Though 'First Things' is the realm of writers like George and Arkes that are typically dismissed by the left, they have shown themselves in this case to be neutral, objective, and exactly the voice of reason this community needs right now.

Has anyone considered the double conspiracy theory? That this is not a hoax, but the perpetrators knew they could get away with what they did because everyone would think that it was a hoax (due to Nava's history)?

I can't believe he actually made up the whole thing!!! How did he give himself a concussion???

Keep waiting. Still more to come.

Bryan, the article doesn't say that he made the whole thing up, merely that he might have...

The whole thing is looking increasingly suspicious, but if the things about the concussion and the panic attack are true, it seems highly unlikely that Nava did this to himself.

More facts will surely come to light as the situation develops.
