From these United States

The United States Constitution mandates that only native-born U.S. citizens, including those born abroad to parents who are both also U.S. citizens, may become the president of the United States.

Barack Obama is no exception to the rule. In fact, he was born at Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. But Dr. Eric Wargotz, one of Maryland’s Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate, who describes himself as the presumptive GOP nominee, disagrees.

Wargotz is a graduate of Rutgers University, and he received his M.D. from Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his post graduate medical training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Washington D.C. and the George Washington University Medical Center, even receiving the Frank N. Miller, M.D. Award for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching.

In an interview about Obama, however, Wargotz noted, “I do not believe he was born in the United States.”

Since when did Hawaii no longer count as part of the United States?

I don't really know. I have researched Dr. wargotz and he is not an extremist or wacko but a reasonable fellow answering a question honestly. He didn't say the President was not a citizen. There is still much concern across the Nation regarding regarding the Presidents history. Although many who visit this site http://www.hourofthetime.com/wordpresstest/?p=1516 may feel it is unreasonable please note that there are details which need to be answered. I suppose that is why the court in California is allowing one case to proceed. It's not over 'till it's over and Wargotz is not alone in wondering what the truth is. The short form, certificate of live birth does not always serve as a bith certificate and 2 announcements in the paper mean very little. Certainly a newborn carried from a foreign country would be brought by a caring mother to a hospital when she got home to make certain all is well. Not unreasonable. Nothing wrong with searching for the truth when there are legitimate questions.

I don't know what to think and I look forward to having the courts sort it all out.

Several Marylanders, including me, have been plaintiffs in lawsuits related to the eligibility of Obama and McCain to serve as President. I've had the pleasure of talking to Dr. Wargotz about this. The writer's claim to know where Obama was born seems an exaggeration, at best. Last July, Army Reservist Maj. Stefan Cook was scheduled to be activated. He filed a lawsuit indicating that the question of Obama's eligibility meant that he, as a soldier, might be subject to being tried as a war criminal. He did not get court martialed. His activation order was rescinded. That means he no longer has standing to pursue the eligibility issue in court. The good news is that, inevitably, more and more people will have standing to bring this issue up in court, and eventually, the matter will, I suspect, be judged on the substantive issue raised. For example, every person arrested for violating a law signed by Barack Obama will gain standing on the eligibility issue. I don't claim to know whwere Obama was born. Two affadavits filed by Democrat attorney Phil Berg attest to hearing Obama's grandmother claim that she was present when Obama was born in Mombasa. Maybe she was wrong. But as best I understand it, the burden of proof continues to be on Obama himself, since he hasn't even provided a prima facie case yet.
