Accidental April Fools for NYU Grad School Applicants

Last Wednesday 489 applicants to NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service were informed via email that they were accepted. Unfortunately, those 489 applicants received a second, accurate, email an hour later informing them that in fact they had been rejected from the program and that the email was a clerical error.

This is similar to the incident at the University of California- San Diego earlier this month when 47,000 previously rejected students received emails invited them to admitted students day.

It appears even admissions offices have problems with the "Reply All" button.
